Sesame Low Carb Cloud Bread
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon cream cheese
- 2 eggs
(whites separated from yolks) - ¼ teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon dried herbs
Mrs. Dash - optional - 1 teaspoon sesame seeds toasted - optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300 degree F (150 degrees C). Line baking sheet with waxed paper (parchment paper) and lightly spray with oil.
- Warm cream cheese in the microwave oven on low- medium heat for about 30 seconds at 10 seconds at a time just until softened. Mix with a spoon and set aside to cool.
- In the meantime, beat egg whites and baking powder together until stiff peaks form, about 3 minutes
- Beat the egg yolks and the cream cheese mixture together until smooth. Then add your beaten yellow egg and cream cheese mixture to the egg white peaks and add your Mrs. Dash seasoning or any spice you like such as dried garlic powder, a little chili powder, cumin, basil you name it. As long as it is dried herbs do not use fresh herbs as this will not give your bread optimal results. Gently fold together just until mixed. Be careful not to deflate the egg whites.
- Place a dollop of your low carb bread batter on to your lined baking sheets. We made two 4 inch bread loaves and spread them so they are about ¼ inch thick. Sprinkle your low carb bread batter disks with sesame seeds.
- Bake for about 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Enjoy in a sandwich or plain or even as a bread to lop up your delicious curry.

This is a great recipe! My husband and I have been trying to lose weight and the
carbs, but this provides the crunch that we have been craving....really delicious.
HWC Magazine says
These little cloud breads are really good, especially when trying to cut down on the carbs. We were skeptical at first but this tried and true recipe really works. The next day to crisp the cloud bread up, just pop in the oven or toaster just to get them warm.
Cal says
Before I try these can I ask: how crispy are they? Are they like crackers? Do they have enough strength to serve as a bread replacement for a sandwich?
Aubry says
Amazed so few ingredients can make something like a bread.
Lori says
Super easy to make. However, I would probably not bother making it again. Maybe okay as a substitute for sandwich bread , but it has a very eggy taste (of course). Frankly, it reminded me of eating a overdone fried egg although very light and airy compared to an overdone egg.
HWC Magazine says
Thanks Lori for your comment. If you are doing low carb thing, they are very nice bread sandwich substitute. Sometimes, we like to toast them to get the cheese melted. Wishing you a super evening. Take Care
Amira Ibrahim (Amira's Pantry) says
I've heard a lot before about the cloud bread but really did not try them myself. May be it is time to do so.
HWC Magazine says
This recipe is really easy and no extra special ingredients. We have tried other versions of cloud bread and the one with the cream of tartar but those did not work well. We hope you give it a try.
Abbe@This is How I Cook says
I really need to try this. How do they taste? It almost seems like an egg pancake, so I'm curious!
HWC Magazine says
They do not taste eggy but have a delicious texture of both a little crunch from the sesame seeds and also something you can really sink your teeth into. They really take on the flavor of any dried herbs you use. It is like a blank canvas.
Abbe@This is How I Cook says
Can't wait to try! These really sound like they have a lot of texture and the possibilities are endless! Thanks!
Gerlinde de Broekert says
